If you are planning on hosting a website, do not use HostGator. They went down because of unknown reasons at 1am Texas time, and did not get back up and running until 1pm Central Daylight Time.
Here is a link to their "explanation". Please note the last message stating that the problem was resolved was amended to explain that it really wasnt fixed after all.
Thank you all for your understanding in this situation that was beyond our control.
