We have "lived"out of Shamrock on a couple of trips, pretty much anything you need to live on,except olives when we wanted to make martinis one night, they only sell them in a gallon can, just a bit more then we needed!!

I highly recommend Coletta's on the garden side of the road. Not a beach couple but we make our way down there for super cheap, early breakfast. Not too sure of the variety becasue we eat the traditional Jamaican breakfast everyday. Big breakfast and coffee for two for about 12 bucks.

Thanks for the recommendations, Ziggy. So just where is the "mega mart".... is that back in MoBay or is it in Negril?

My favorite restaurant in that area is Shereta’s Restaurant located at the Sea Wind. Excellent food, great views ocean side. You mentioned your staying at the Palms, make sure you ask for a refrigerator, seeing you may be getting some perishables, plus its nice to have some things cold to drink. Have a pleasant reach!.
Navvet... Now we're getting somewhere! I looks like that particular store would be handy and convenient if they have what the Queen requires, and her knave wants! I've got Shereta's on my list for dinner at least one evening, again, due to its convenience.

One of my favourite places in Negril. Say hi to Gail Jackson (owner and boardie)
Thanks, dash! I've had Gail's establishment on my radar for many years, now... just haven't had the push off the AI side to actually do anything about it. We'll be sure to drop in to her place a time or two, and I really would love the opportunity to meet this lady, as I know her to have a reputation as a very community minded person... my kind of people!

I like Hi-lo for the first day shopping to stock our fridge and the little convenience store across from catcha for the rest of the week (the place is like a magic mini mart... You want something, they probably have it).

The resort driver made me laugh a couple years back though with his commentary on hi low... "Prices at hi-lo, always high, never low".

we stayed at Negril Palms in April. If you walk out of the gate and turn left, there is a little store across the street not very far. They had milk, water and different snacks and alcohol. Not as much as Shamrock, but only a 5 minute walk. Next door is Juicy's, we had breakfast there quite a few mornings when we didn't want to venture far. Good food, decent prices. Also a little bar there - Cottontree? I forget the name, but nice little place only a two minute walk. Spyder was a great guy.
