Re: rage
Tuesday. The last full day.
We get up early and trudge down the beach to meet up with the Canadians. We have hired Chicken to take us on a tour to YS, and Pelican bar. This time we have the lads with us. PGW was wanting to spend some more time with his kid, and his friends - but they were wanting to do their own thing for the most part. At 18-19, who didn't? This was a good opportunity to lock them in for the day though.
We head over to hilo. Gotta get some cash. Gotta get some supplies.
Loaded up the cooler with some stripes, some wata, some Gatorade. Grabbed some snacks and off we went. Well sort of.
WE FORGOT PGW! He was taking a leak behind the bus and not only did start to leave without him, but we pulled away his cover.
Anyway, we got him on the bus, and now, off we went.
On the way to YS, I sat in the back with Uncle Johnny, PGW road shotgun and the rest of the crew filled out in between.
We stopped at belmont to check out the Peter Tosh burial site. Some will be impressed to know that the road all the way up until this point has been repaved. I have no doubt that the Sandals Whithouse Resort had a little to do with this.
We made it to YS falls. The lads did the rope swing. We took some pics and video. I went swimming for about 30 minutes. After that? Well.... I guess that's all.
We stopped at Middle Quarters for some peppa shrimp. BANGIN.
Finally off to Pelican Bar.
Chicken arranged our boat and off we went. We spent about 3 hours at pelican bar. Most of us were in the water the whole time. PGW challenged us to climb that structure just near pelican. Myself, his son, and my buddy mike went up. It was very shaky.
PGW's kid tells me he doesnt have shoes on and is nervous to step on a sea urchin, so I toss him over my shoulder and carry him back to pelican bar. Thats when I nailed my shin on some Coral. didnt really hurt that bad at the time, but it did later.
When we got out of the water it turns out I was bleeding from the coral. A young Jamaican guy came over with vinegar, and that stopped the bleeding, but HOLY ****. It stung.
After a bit, we decided to head back. I told the guys that the ride was REALLY BORING in the dark and it was best we hit the road with some day light.
On the way home we stopped at the KFC in Sav. The place was PACKED. We waited in line for an hour I'd guess. Lots of yelling for "Supervisor!" but it was an unforgettable experience. We sat down and ate, and headed back to town.
Unfortunately this is where our story basically ends. We were all exhausted from the long day.
Pics to follow.
