covered verandas
Hi Negril boardies, i am looking for a place on the beach or cliffs that has a covered veranda. I am an artist and always bring down my artwork and spend a great deal of time working. I have stayed at Idle Awhile and liked the set-up with the covered veranda but was wondering if there are other places i am not aware of that could be a good choice for me if Idle Awhile is booked.
Any ideas? thanks so much for any insights!

I just spent alot of time researching the same thing, I will be in Negril on Friday. Idle Awhile really seems like the best bet. A couple of the beachfront rooms at Firefly, a couple of rooms at Nirvana (called veranda suites). I didnt opt for any of them as the veranda is blocked by the front halfwall (cement), so sitting down, you wouldnt see much. Nirvana also has the owners villa with a BIG covered veranda. A couple of other hotels that looked like they had covered verandas from pics on their website never got back to me, so never found out any details.

On the cliffs, many of the places I have stayed had covered verandas:
Negril Escape, Catcha Falling Star, Tensing Pen, Xtabi (the garden rooms across the street)

Beach house villas has numerous rooms with verandas. Idle Awhile would be my first choice however. Peace

I love staying in the Owner's Villas at Nirvana, for the same price as a "beachfront" suite at Idle Awhile, you get a huge villa that is actually right on the beach. It does have a great covered patio, check out the pictures on their website, they are very accurate.
