Family Trip

I am prayerfully planning for our entire family to come to Negril for the first time all together in the summer of 2016.. That is going to be quite a logistical task. there are 24 of us - Tina, me our four kids and their spouses and 14 grandchildren (by then, from 2 years old to 17)! I usually am our own travel agent.. and book the flights and resort - but this might be stretching my abilities a bit! Any suggestions for arranging such a thing would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. my last name isn't "Rockefeller" if you get what I mean!!

Oh wow…what a wonderful event to look forward to. I would suggest the Rayon. Not beachside hotel, but has beautiful AC rooms, a fantastic pool, restaurant and its small/intimate enough to contain just your family. Contact Pansy. Who knows, you might get a special rate if you book out the property. Oh and if I were there the same time, I would gladly be a roving photographer for free. Talk about the great memories that will be made. I wish you all the best with this project. Starting your planning now is definitely a good idea.

Hi there, DaRev. Wow! You certainly do have a task on your hands. We would love to help you make your trip logistically seamless and most memorable.

Between now and summer 2016, I'm sure many of the Boardies here at Negril.com who travel regularly, and even live in Negril, will give outstanding recommendations.

A few things to consider are:

1. Do you want to stay on the cliff side or the beach side? I suggest the beach side since you will travel with many kids. The beach gives them much to do and see (playing in the sand, finding treasures, watching the action, seeing people come and go, and of course playing in the beautiful water without the risk of banging against the lovely cliffs).

2. Do you want to rent a house where you can all live together or do you want separate rooms... or a combination of both?

3. Do you want transportation to travel about or will you stay still and use taxies or drivers?

Please know that you have many options. Negril (and surrounding areas) offers a lot to do and see.... above and below water! We can truly assist you with all of your needs and make recommendations for lodging, eating and activities.

Remember, SUNBABY is always here to provide your water activities. You and your family can enjoy the beauty of the Sea and view Negril from a different vantage point.

I think Rayon is a very good option would also throw in Crystal Waters...they offer villa type accommodations and will cook meals for you guys. One house could be the "main" house for gatherings and such. It's next to Margaritaville which maybe a plus for the younger people in the group. I would suggest each family book their own airfare. You track the cost and when airfare drops send an email/text.

Regarding excursions, send a list of what's available with a brief description and allow family members to vote. Then combine the tours with the most votes into say two day trips.
