Non guests are welcome pretty much anywhere except the AI's. For sure they are at the places you mentioned. $US or $JA either one is fine in fact most places show the amount of your bill in both. We don't go the credit card route but those are fine too - just make sure your card does not charge a foreign exchange fee.
