Jamaica annually celebrates this day as the family fun day features 18 donkeys, all dressed up for the races in various custumes. There are a lot of activities and happenings on this day including a fair ground atmosphere with kids rides, game booths and free face painting.

I stand to be corrected but I think it's likely to be on a Sunday......either Feb 08 or Feb 15
If they go for the same weekend every year it would be February 8th. That is normally the day we must leave so we have never attended. I hope its the 15th this year since our trip is later than normal.
You may be correct. I was looking for other information when I saw and copied that information from the site. Here is an old picture from the Donkey Races in Little Bay 10 years or so back (R.I.P. Uncle Sam).

I just FB messaged Negril Rotary (they run the races) and asked them to let me know the date, or hop over to the board and post a response. We will soon hear - they're an awesome bunch!
Got a reply back from Joan at Rotatry Negril, and the Donkey races 2015 will be Sunday 08 Feb. It's their 10th anniversary and their pretty proud of it!
I will miss it again. Just one more reason to keep going back year after year, that uncompleted bucket list! I may shoot for 2016.
