    Negril to Kingston

    Hi Folks

Long time Negril ( and Jamaica ) visitors looking for a different trip. We are thinking about a 1 night trip to Kingsnton this trip (in March) to visit a lot of the places that commemorate the BM experience. We have done and seen a lot in Jamaica and this still on the bucket list.

The question is cost. We are thinking of overnighting in Kingston so would need to pay for the driver plus his room for 1 night? Can anyone recommend a driver and give an approximate cost for 4 people for this type of trip. 2days and one night in Kingston.

    Thanks in advance

    Andrew

Sorry, I can't recommend a driver, but wanted to offer the suggestion of the Knutsford Express if you are just looking for affordable, easy transportation to and from Kingston.

The Knutsford is a nice way to go with a rest stop (at a jerk center, Luana on the south coast and Ochi on the north) on the way, AC, a movie, etc. It drops you off in Kingston very close to the Bob Marley museum and several nice hotels.

The bus is about $25pp each way.

You can take taxis/get a driver in Kingston to take you around.

In April we went to Kingston with our driver Byron and his friend Big Dave, left at 6am arrived back around 10pm, went to Bobs house, Emancipation Square, to the local mall for lunch, Devon house and stopped on bamboo ave for refreshments had a great day paid 38000$

Try the Knutsford express! Way cheaper than hiring a private driver and safer than taking a taxi.

Ya! Maybe sand-gravity will break enough for a day trip with Knutsford....sounds like a great way to see some country. South coast out, north coast home to Negril!

Thanks for all the advice. We have/are considering Knutsford. Our only hesitation is we tend to be the stop on the spur of the moment or when we see something interesting type of people. With the long drive that may not work well.
Knutsford shows about 5.5 hours driving on the website. I was under the impression that by car and using the south coast route it was a 3.5 hour trip. Is this accurate?

I am still interested in a private driver if someone knows a driver that would be comfortable and knowledgeable about Kingston

The music buzz trip may be a little structured for us but does look neat. The nice part is we have to March to figure it out. The bad part is March is a long way away!

My 85 year old aunt takes the Knutsford Express from Kingston to visit us in Negril and she loves it.
