    First solo trip

    This will be my first solo trip...anywhere. So I'm on my own for the first five days of a 8 day reach.
    I enjoy my own company and don't get lonely so I'm not worried about that.

    Question for the veterans is, what am I in for? I assume lots of introspection, but what else? I'll admit that I'm not good at meeting people so I'll be the guy sitting at the end of the bar.

    Actually, I'm just a bit jealous... and what's wrong with a little introspection now and again? At least you're doing it in style! Your user tag implies that you hail from the Big Apple... probably a good opportunity to unplug and unwind... Enjoy!

    I'll be doing a solo trip soon also. Like you, I'll be the guy at the other end of the bar
    You can be alone or as busy as you like. I tend to be a loner, although you'll get plenty of invitations for company.
    Soon come!

    Ugh. I hate getting approached by the pros. So annoying. No is no, go find another mark.

    I am going solo again for most of my trip for the forth year in a row and I have to say I have had the best time, and met the most amazing group of people, that I may have missed out on otherwise. The only time I am alone is on the drive into the airport cuz there are a bunch of new friends just waiting and old friends to renew friendships and catch up with...

    I love travelling to Negril alone because you are truly not ever alone. It is your choice to socialize or VEG! I do both very well during my Negril stay. I'm in for a weekend coming up alone and looking forward to my "ME TIME".

    I'm on my first solo right now. The best thing I did for myself was hire my own personal driver. Got treated like a king and my driver was always looking out for me and teaching me. His name is Brian and his phone number is; 1-876-853-6261. He can get ANYTHING your heart desires and he just a really good guy. Tell him Tom recommended him to you.

    I'm very content just sitting on my balcony or laying in my hammock. I just don't want do ALL the events this time. Would like to make a few good locals. Well, I did and we just stayed up all night and talked till the sun came up. Just what the doctor ordered;}

    Tom was having a personal driver expensive? I was contemplating doing the same thing for my trip.

    Having a driver is cheaper than you would think. For example, I pay $120 for a private 1 hr ride to the airport here in the states and pay $60 for a ride from MBJ to Negril which is roughly 1 1/2hrs. At night I now rarely go out without a private driver and have a great time wherever we go.
