Rose Hall beach vs Negril beach?

A friend is all excited about booking a trip to Jamaica on CheapCaribbean.com. Her 1st time and she is thinking about Iberostar Rose Hall near Montego Bay. She is a "BEACH" person. I'm thinking she is crazy and could find a better deal in Negril.

I have only driven through Rose Hall and never stopped and walked around.

Anyone been and can compare Negril Beach to the beach at Iberostar Rose Hall?

IRH is a really nice resort and most everyone who goes there loves it. However, if your friend is wanting to go because of the beach, it's no contest.

i took my family there 3 years ago , nice big resort with the spanish feel, restaurants were good except the steak house, beach was nice, reef to snorkel too , when i went you couldn't go on to the rose hall grand beach , place was too big it was a hike to go back to the room via elevator, no jamaican culture at all, still regret not taking them to Negril
