Hello Buffalo New York......Welcome Home!
Jamaica welcomes you home to the sun and the fun!! No shovel required......just sunscreen and a bathing suit. Grab a plane and meet us at the airport. Instead of getting stuck in the snow, let us transport you to your fantastic hotel, with a cold beer in hand......instead of cold hands and feet. Time to leave the mittens and socks at home. Cold wet snow is not invited to this party.......make new friends with our spectacular warm hot sands.

Re: Hello Buffalo New York......Welcome Home!
....and just a side note....the snow was NOT in Buffalo but in the surrounding suburbs. The city of Buffalo will receive a fair amount of snow tonight. or so i've been told because i'm not home...i'm stuck in phoenix and anxious to get home!

Re: Hello Buffalo New York......Welcome Home!
To ,anyone and everyone, who have had the hardship in dealing with the trial and tribulation of excess snow......we apologize. We did not intend to offend anybody, but instead put a more light hearted spin on a arduous task. We realize that it is not an easy situation and did not mean to be flippant. There is the calm after the storm and was merely sending out a message that Jamaica could offer some much needed rest and relaxation. Blessings to all regarding any storms they may face, whether physical or spiritual. We sincerely hope you made you way home safely. One Love Mon!

Re: Hello Buffalo New York......Welcome Home!
Dear JJT.....its all good! i am a little sensitive about my hometown and don't look forward to the 1000's of buffalo weather jokes i've had to endure since 1977! LOL!!!! We blame canada for sending us that blast of cold air!! No lake effect snow ain't no joke but we in buffalo are resiliant and definitely the city of good neighbors.....folks go out of their way to help each other. Goldi if you knew how far springville and orchard park is from the city proper....the south of buffalo always seem to catch hell! folks in the city are going about their business as usual! i wouldn't expect you to know about the severity of sudden, massive snow, just as we cannot fathom hurricanes and tornados!
I am looking forward to spending my winter in beautiful negril but not until january...by that time i'll had enough of this ish! By the way....your ad was kinda of cute so don't fret! Peace!

Re: Hello Buffalo New York......Welcome Home!
I'm on Cape Cod, we get lake effect snow too, but the most I've had to deal with is about four feet - long time ago. No ma'am, I can't imagine dealing with 6 feet!

Re: Hello Buffalo New York......Welcome Home!
......and i changed my flight to sunday in order to catch the Bills football game that was moved to monday night because they couldn't get enough folks to shovel the snow out. and with the number of unemployed folks $10/hr would have been a blessing! and the Bills are another sensitive area of mine too!

Re: Hello Buffalo New York......Welcome Home!
JJT, I thought your post was fabulous! Just what we come on the board for ... the memories of warm sand or the anticipation of hot sun ... something you don't get in Montreal in January - or November, it would appear!
Babalew - your "we blame Canada" made me laugh so hard! We blame the U.S. eastern seaboard, or Texas - yeah! Let's blame them - we get a lot of reports of "a storm front that started in Texas is building over the U.S. Midwest and will hit us with a bazillion cm's of snow by tomorrow evening" ! Gotta love it!
I remember sitting in the backyard in mid-to-late August and my daughter saying how she had seen The Geese (a clear sign summer is on the way out) and thought "this is waaay too early for the geese to be headed south .." Should've paid more attention to The Geese. They knew then what we know now - winter's acomin' early this year, folks! And it's gonna be a doozy!
Can't wait to grab that plane to MBJ in January where the only thing that's cold is the Red Stripe .. as it should be!
Keep calm, and carry on ... to JAMAICA!
