Jamaica Style Restaraunt

I've seen a few references to Rohan's restaurant and thought I'd call it out. Jamaica Style Restaurant in the West End is outstanding. Rohan's curried anything is always amazing. If you swing by for lunch, and plan for dinner while you're there, he will shop for you during the afternoon for what you agree will be the Entrée' that night.

My lovely wife and I went there for a lunch on, uhh, the day escapes me, of curried goat with rice and peas and let him know we'd be back for dinner. He asked us "what we'd like", to which we responded, "what do you make good" (his menu is merely a recommendation). His answer was "Seapuss". So we ordered Rohan's "Seapuss" and a couple of Caribbean Lobster. We let Rohan know we'd see him for dinner after sunset and we went back to Catcha' to enjoy an afternoon of swimming and nothing.

We watched the sunset and various sunset cruises go by, had a sub, then went to the Jamaican Style Restaurant for dinner. Our table was set, the Red Stripe were cold, and we enjoyed a meal that was incredible. Tunes were right, the vibe was solid and the company was perfect. I'd recommend it to everyone.

Confession: last trip we were their 14 days and ate at The Jamaican Style Restaraunt 10 times (Ahbees was a close second with 6; Ahbees burgers and Red Stripe are felonious).

Love Love Love Jamaica Style! it is a kind of unknown place and is small. you don't think much of it when you walk by but well worth the stop. it is located on the opposite the road from Tensing Pen and about a ¼ mile towards the roundabout. Rohan is a great host!

I totally agree. It doesn't jump out as a "place to be", it's not huge, but the food and the host make it work. If you want the real deal swing by.

Sounds like my kind of place. Help a gyal out...from your description, I can't exactly figure out where it is. Can you give me some more landmarks? Sounds like it is on the water side of West End Road. Definitely want to check it out in December. Thanks in advance.......

yetta, Jamaica Style is basically right across the street from Le Mirage. If you are standing at the gates of Mirage, look across the street and to the left; you can't miss it. They even have a little sign at the edge of the road and I believe they have a couple flags on the property (American and Canadian? don't remember).

I too am glad to see Jamaican Style Restaurant getting some love. They don't get much publicity as they are not on Trip Advisor or Facebook. Staying at Mirage, this was my go-to place for a good meal and drinks when we didn't feel like walking. Rohan is a great guy and a great cook. Had a lot fun hanging out at the bar with Shauna while I waited for my food. Always a small but interesting crowd hanging out there; from guitar-playing ex-pats to old Rastas getting off work and enjoying some rum.

The next time I am there, I will have to help Rohan setup a TA page.

I stayed at Mirage last November and didn't see it even though I looked for it. There was a tiny vendor hut across the street. I guess I should have asked Nadine.
