Parasailing Vendors are worse than jet ski vendors!

After a 17 day trip I have to say that the lack of jet ski's was nice, but having 20 parasailing vendors asking you 15 times a day if you want to ride is a real pain in the ass! Very aggressive, rude and had some horrendous comments if you wouldn't "ride"

I love the beach vendors, engage them, buy from them and help them out and show respect but wow the level of aggressiveness was so elevated with the parasailing group on this reach. After awhile it's all you can do not to be rude. Actually had a very loud argument with one of them one day while he made a comment about Mrs. DD and her friend! I lost it and questioned his manhood, this made him go wild. Security had to separate us! Furious about the attitude of the select jacka$$'s on the beach.

Funny thing was when I told one of them what happened they said the guy was crazy. Seems like anytime one of the Vendors acts up that the first response.

Both those activities are something I would never do, anywhere, anytime. Just not my thing. Don't like speed on the water or being up high in the sky. We have been in Negril a number of times and have never done either. My husband has done the jet sky ride once when we were in Antiqua. But he has never been so inclined while in Negril. We had never felt bothered by either of those vendors in the past. I have been hoping that the jet ski ban will continue when we return. The quiet would be so welcomed. Heck, the folks that rent the ride have never really been an issue, but man, I don't like the pros. They are a bother. The parasailing, well, that is a niche thing that not that many people are into, in my opinion. If you want it, you can find it. Fine. Why the heck do they need to bother people. The last time we stayed at the Charela we spent the entire week with our spot on the beach as a home base and did our walks and such. The last day of that trip a glass bottom boat vendor who hung by the beach came over and asked us if today was the day we were going to do something. We just looked at him and said, no, not today, either. OK he said and that was that. We have found that no one really bothers us. While we were at Charela we were all inclusive and did not need any of the vendors daily wares. When we stayed the year before at Idle Awhile we enjoyed our daily visit from the juice guy, the fruit lady, the bread guy. I appreciate when a vendor knows his audience. Heck, a couple in their late fifties does not need to be bothered by vendors offering a ride in the sky. If we wanted that experience we would seek it out. I guess that is what I wish the vendors would understand. Harassing people will not promote anything positive for their business. We want what we want when we want it from who we want it. Bothering us is not going to make us buy in. I know these folks are making a living. We all are in our lives. Laid back sales win in our experience. We have enjoyed the beach vendors. We have been bothered by them. But we have never been intimated by them.
