Steam fish taste good, but I can't handle those little bones

Steamed fish here mon! nice, nice!
I can still hear the guy.
This was a looong time ago.
I thought I would try fish that day.
The Steamed fish are these little fish, smaller than your hand.
The are steamed or simmered with peppers and onions, etc.

Taste great, but I can't handle the million little bones that are everywhere.
I tried sliding the fish off the bones like the locals do, but there is always 1 or 2 that i miss.

One time I was dining with a J-lady and she said "did you check for bones"
I said "yeah, i got them all"
    "No you didn't"
She reached over and took a small translucent bone about an inch long off my fork.
Man, I was about to put that in my mouth!

I just hate the feeling of small fish bones in my mouth,
So scared that a little bone will get stuck in my throat.

The locals eat steamed fish all the time.
If you know what you are doing, there is no problem.
But, I cant see very small things without glasses.
So, no steamed fish for me.

The Bonita fish is a nice meaty and very tasty fish in Jamaica.

Marko - try some steamed Doctor Fish (very few bones except for back bone which is easy to deal with). You could buy some at the fisherman's market down by the river and take them over to Ringo to cook!

Yes BCBud, that is the plan.

Matter of fact, Ringo tried to cook those small fish for me one time.
I learned my lesson well. LOL

It's an acquired skill borne of necessity.

Put the fish in your mouth and spit out the bones.

Your tongue is very sensitive and will find the bones and you'll spit them out.

    Usually toward the nearest dog.
