I'm not sure I used the right term for this but I'm wondering how much it costs and if anyone here has done this and is it worth it?

TSA pre-screen just shows up on your ticket. Not sure the criteria, but I have had it almost every time in the past year. I think it might have to be related to how much you travel.
But as stated, keep your shoes on, belt on, and all the stuff...saves a little time and sometimes they have a special line for you too.
Soon come!
When it just shows up you are chosen randomly. The formal process involves payment and an interview at the TSA office, and an application.
Have had it several times & don't question it. Nice surprise every once in a while. Last time was in Sept. on a flight home from NC, the day the Chicago area flights were shut down by the fire. Didn't impact me but I still got the prescreen status. A woman next to me in line had to rebook her flights & "lost" her prescreen for her original flights. She had to go through the regular line. One of those "go figure" things.
