    Re: Beach Mash-Up??

Still lots of beach in front of Rondel. I wallked from Sunbeach to Cosmos yesterday a.m. And the other way to Bar B Barn in the afternoon. It all looks good. Only a couple feet of beach at Lazy Days, however. Treehouse has lots of beach.
Sadly, Myrna is no longer at Sunnyside. Dispute with the landlord I'm told. Boat Bar is closed for another couple weeks. Canoe still not open and Whistling Bird is all fenced and looks forlorn.
All the changes I've noticed since last March are positive.

Impact of Development has been extreme on Negril Beach (like anywhere else I suppose). In the 70's before the boom and too many motorized boats Negril Beach was pristine. One could walk along the beach from the river (in town) to Rockland Point (Hedonism) unimpeded by anything other than coral. No fences, no jetties, just pure white sand that you could walk, jog or run on.Name: Negril Beach at Dusk.JPG

There was a point where the trees impeded the walk just before Cosmo's and you had to go out to the road for a chain or so.

    Also, it's Rutland Point

    Hey Cap,

Yes you are right about that!!! Or wade around in the water but there were as I remember coral and sea urchins down that end that unless you had water shoes on meant problems.

Do you remember the soccer field right by Cosmo's and I think maybe a public bathing beach with access from the main road??? I used to stop at Cosmo's for Conch Soup (very spicy) and a Red Stripe!! Back when I was fit I used to run the beach from Gloria's Sunset Cottages to the worksite where Negril Beach Village was being built and back to Gloria's and then jumping in the sea to cool off. Do you remember Miss Gloria's friend (Mr. Peat???) who drove the two tone Cooper auto???

    Thanks for your clear memory!!!

    John
