I think (just a guess) the issue had to do with the Facebook Connect coding. FB changes the code from time to time.
I had several people email/contact me in the last 24 hours with strange problems (all different) but after your post, I had a problem with my FB connect. I disabled, then re-enabled it and it seemed to have corrected the problems.
