I'd have to agree with Mikey on this one. (regretably) It's not the cheapest place to hang but, there is usually no shortage of "action" throughout the day.

Challenge them to walk the whole beach and have a drink at each place along the way. They will be sure to find a favorite.

I agree. Perhaps they could use Margaritaville as a home base, they could rent a locker there, but walking the beach and stopping at the small places should be lots of fun for any age.

i think at that age i would think marg-ville will ahve the most things to do...a quick walk next door will find the beers 300 vs the 800 or so at mville....if they like to drink, flipadelphia has a list of the bars on the beach with a highlight of each in one of these threads.....just do a search...

thursday night is ladies night at the jungle....the closest thing to a nightclub that they might be used to......also live entertainment several nighta a week at bourbon beach (next to old debuss) and alfreds and roots bamboo...

For a younger night time crowd try Rooftop or American Pie. I suggest bringing a local friend the first time.

As an alternative to Margaritaville, I would check out Boardwalk Village. Less hassle than M-ville, but they have a DJ, a water trampoline, decent food/drink and a few shops to check out.

However, much like Margaritaville, I would probably get bored of Boardwalk Village after one day. That's when I think a beach bar crawl would be in order.

As an aside, I hung out at Cosmo's for the first time last week. Nice, big beach, but I was surprised that they charge $400J for admission and $150J for beach chairs. I would have thought that admission would be free for restaurant guests. Anyway, it's a great place to start a beach bar crawl as you can just head south and hit every bar on Long Bay. My wife and I did just that, but stopped at Kuyaba when I had to cross the street and hit the ABM at Time Square. On the other hand, you may not want to pay the entry fee at Cosmo's if your intent is just to grab a beer and start walking down the beach.

Sun beach bar is a great place to hang out and one that nobody has mentioned is Roots Bamboo, you can get a drink and have a chair there too. Just stroll along and find a spot. Depending upon where you are staying, they will have a place to suggest to you.

I base myself out of Margaritaville everyday..it divides the beach from Coral Seas Beach property to Hedo in half & that's my beach walk..different direction each day...sometimes I'll do it all. I like that Margville has a different change of people everyday since it's not a resort..great people watching..I've got 44 days to walk that beach & see mi friends so why not. I never buy food or drink there...I BYO
