    The "n" word

No No No not that word, NEGRIL is the best N word ever.

Since I have not been to Negril in the past two years has the Jamaican Tourist Board or The Police made any efforts to organize the merchants that ply the beach with their goods and services??? I have many friends and have heard lots of stories of people who have a great difficulty dealing with the constant pressure to buy stuff while trying to lay out and relax. Do most properties have agents / guards keeping non guests off the grounds??

It never really bothered me too much in all the years I visited but I do understand to some it's a turn off.

Realizing that people come from miles away to sell their goods and need to make a living, how is it now dealt with. Is there still a market area by the bridge for local crafts, food, etc....

We go down every December and granted it is quieter than but we have never been bothered on the Beach anymore then telling them "No Mon - not looking today!" Most places have security or staff that move them along if they are being a hassle and very rarely does anyone approach you right at your chair/lounger to make a sales pitch.!

I agree it's generally easy enough to move them along if not interested, but they certainly will and do approach you while relaxing on the beach (unless on hotel property).
