snail mail

I sent some things in the mail to my Jamaican friends, and it took 3 weeks. They say that's normal.. any way to send more quickly?

The 3 weeks was actually surprisingly quick...have seen mail take much longer here.
The only other choice is to use DHL or FedEx etc...but those are very expensive options.
Alternatively, many boardies here have generously offered to take mail and small packages to Jamaica for each other.
