Are you able to leave and go wander the airport and return to the lounge if you have time? I may end up at the airport pretty early this time because I'm taking a shared transfer and I'm worried I'll be sitting in the same space for hours.

Yes, you can wander around. Just don't past the "secure zone" OR you'll have to go back through security. But almost all of the shops & restaurants, etc are AFTER you go through security.

They will even watch your carry on luggage for you while you wander.
