I went to the dollar store before I came and picked up a salt and pepper shaker, kitchen sponge, and a small detergent. Add rice to the salt to keep it dry. Yes, you can get all of these things here but this makes it easier if you can't get to the store the first day. Do bring zip lock bags - large and small because they come in very handy. I, too, stay a month.

Thanks for all your ideas. Never thought about simple things like first aid kit, sewing kit and zip lock bags. We usually only stay 7 - 10 days but we're celebrating my 65th BD, my retirement and our 40th anniversary so we're going big this time! Keep the great ideas coming!
