I am well traveled and have heard this numerous times. A lot of the worlds perception is that "ugly Americans" have a sense of entitlement. Ignoring the feedback from myself as well as several others seems to reenforce this belief. This is the greatest difference I have observed between the US and our brothers and sisters up North.

    Jon C,
Catcha is an adult environment. My daughter is 19 and I would still not bring her there and when she comes we stay elsewhere. And this is coming from one of the more liberal people on this board, well at least the ones I know.

    Tizzy,
You know that dude spent extra time around the porch when making his rounds. Hell, he even slept right in front of the room most nights. Don't make me post some pics.

Star cottage only has 8 ft walls with an open ceiling, unless something has changed recently. The walls do not extend all the way up and therefore any noise you make in one room will be heard in the other. I do notice they have AC listed for Star now, so this might have changed. So TFW, if your heart is set on staying at Catcha you would be better served in the new building.

Why all the word twisting & snarky replies?
I don't know. Not stressing me, however. Thanks

We are going to stay on the cliffs for the first time in a few weeks. Why are there comments that it is not a good place for teenagers or kids to stay?

Because of the laid back nature I am guessing. Maybe they think kids can't chill like adults can chill?

I think it's a matter of adults who travel without their kids not wanting their vacation time interrupted by the typical shenanigans of children, and thinking that if you do travel with kids, their needs for entertainment and supervision will not be met by a small boutique hotel like Catcha.

I know that when I was 15, my parents would have been making a bad decision bringing me to Catcha. I would have been bored to death and probably been a nuisance.

HarryS, I think you can agree that assuming that all teenagers are alike is as wrong as assuming all adults are alike. That kind of laid-back, quiet environment is exactly what mine prefers. IDK how other folks raise kids, but I didn't raise mine to have to be entertained 24/7. The assumption that my young adult, or I guess any young adult, would somehow cause a ruckus and in someway ruin someone else's vacation or good time is patently untrue. Of course, I can only speak for mine. However, from experience, most people wouldn't even realize she was around.

My guess is the objections have something to do with sub enjoyment around kids. We didn't take ours (except when they were babies) until we knew they were sub consumers themselves and were over 18.
