Re: Opinions needed: Pros and Cons of starting reach on Cliffs or Beach
We like to start our trips on the cliffs to get back into the Negril vibe and get a tan, then we go to the beach. We stay for 2 weeks so its an even split 7 days cliffs and 7 beach. The beach is so much more relaxing once you get a tan, the hustlers get really excited when they see peeps with that milky white skin. Either way it is like 2 different vacations in one.

Re: Opinions needed: Pros and Cons of starting reach on Cliffs or Beach
So far everyone has a good reason to start on beach or cliffs .............. however, you are all wrong ............ there is no best way ............... all is good ........... R_E_L_A_X .......... go where and when you can get BOTH the resorts or rooms you want .............. you will not be disappointed where ever you start.
For example, this spring, eleven months ahead of time, the Rockhouse was entirely booked up while we were in Negril. Weddings had booked the entire place. Did not matter if we wanted to stay there first or last, it was a no go. So plan B was put in place ...... Beach only.
Moral of the story ............ some place special you want to stay? Book it while you can and then work out the rest of the trip. All is good.

Well, I think it's a good plan. Nice to do both and when I "hit the beach", I can't make myself leave!

Re: Opinions needed: Pros and Cons of starting reach on Cliffs or Beach
we always start on the cliffs then to the beach the one year we did the opposite , with in 2 days on the cliffs we were missing the beach, we love both but we have found doing the cliffs first was a nice way to unwind and get started

We just like being in Negril.
We've done it both ways and also stayed the full time on the beach several times, we like the energy. For us it ends up coming down to what is available. If you like Catcha or Idle Awhile sometimes they help you make the choice because of availability.
