We were checking prices today and found out flying out of Minneapolis is over a $100 a ticket cheaper than flying out of Chicago Ohare, and over $200 cheaper than Milwaukee.
Naturally your location will influence your choice but for us it's about 40 minutes closer to Chicago than Minneapolis, for $100 (that I can then spend on beer) 40 minutes in the car is worth it.

I looked at both options even though we are 90 minutes from MSP and 5 hours from ohare. We paid $560 from MSP about 3 months ago, and the same flight is now $688. I don't remember exactly what it was from ORD, but it wasn't enough to drive all that way, even though I have relatives close to the airport. Have you checked Southwest? Used them in Dec, it was 454.00. Mpls to Ohare to MBJ.
We really liked the airline. 2 FREE bags, no 1st class.

What dates and what airline? I paid $650 on sun country for feb 7 through the 14th non stop.
I got for $414 out of Kansas City......I'll drive a couple hours for those prices........
