I have never been to Negril before. I am planning on staying at Couple Negril with a few off resort trips. Would a company like Luxurious Carib Tours be able to take us back and forth to Calico Jacks, Ivans at Catcha etc? And would we book this in advance?
Are you in a group? if not we just hop In a cab an ask how much? they should be able to get you the same back.
No, not a group. I've just heard that it is better to take a private taxi....
As a first timer, I would check with private taxis (check with Luxurious, Linston, whomever you choose - check the listings here on the website). Peace of mind is indeed, priceless! As you return you'll become more comfortable shaking things up a bit. Enjoy!!!

also, Couples Negril is great. Don't be surprised if you lose motivation to leave the base camp once you get there, but making the effort to get up to the cliffs (Ivans, Ricks, etc) is worth it.

Some of the places on the West end will pick you up for free. Just have to pay for the ride back.
Note. Don't get sand gravity at the AI. You'll miss what Negril is all about.
Definitely call the places you are wanting to visit and ask about their transfers. As has been stated its usually free to get there and you just have to pay to get back. Just ask what they generally charge. Also at the AI's there is usually a taxi desk that can help you arrange things.

Thanks, everyone! We typically don't stay at AI's. Only have in PC and trying CN this time here in Negril. We always leave the resort. Can't really say you've been to a country if you just stay at the hotel...lol! Will definitely follow your tips. I know Ivans will pick you up and arrange transportation back. I will look for a taxi desk at CN also. Thanks!
You should take the free one love bus tour with Lenbert as a first step, he picks you up around 2:30 pm. Tip him when he drops you off at 7 pm back at Couples. It will expose you to the west end pubs in one awesome afternoon experience. With this experience gained, you can then make decisions on where to grab a cab ride to visit.
If you are worried about something, do something about it. If there is nothing you can do, why worry!
