"Home" isn't so much a physical place as it is a emotional.......there's times I'm more comfortable in Jamaica than my own home...
Home is where I hang my hat.. at night.
Maybe it's because we've only been once, but I'm uncomfortable referring to Jamaica as home. Also, don't feel right using the terms "mon" or "irie". Feel better saying respect man! Just me, but would feel lame trying to speak like a Jamaican.![]()
Well, Everyone calls me 'Irie' in Jamaica, everyone. Jamaicans across the street are saying 'hey, Irie' I absolutely love it! Ya, mon, Jamaica is my home away from home

All I know is that the end of a beautiful sunset and great day on 7 mile, I usually say I'm gonna go home and take a nap before my next dirty banana. Maybe not a reply to your post, but this expresses my feelings
Yeah; I call it home; just watch this:

I have a cute story to share with all in regards to Big Frank's posting.
About 5 years ago my husband and I returned to Jamaica after being absent for a while do to some medical reasons and decided to do an AI at SATP so it would be easy goings on him after surgery. One night after dinner they had some live music and mentioned that they were going to sing the staff's favorite song. Well of course I thought it would be a Bob Marley song WRONG it was John Denver's Take Me Home. The place was in an up roar. To see the pride and the smiles on the staff's face's I will never forget to this day and now that is one of my favorite's Thanks Big Frank I have now posted this on my FB
Once u go u knowRosalie
I did not read all the posts on this but I, a USA citizen that considers my home to be the US, have no problem saying my Home away from home is Jamaica as it is an expression that the Jamaicans I have known for over 35 years and over 25 visits have often used to describe how they know I feel about their Jamaica. It is high praise for those I know and it strikes me as odd that this is a discussion point.
