THX for chiming in Rob! I have stayed at NBCC w/Ms Gaynair for MANY YEARS & actually my 1st stay was in 1985. She has the only the BEST INTERESTS at heart for this Property, even though she does not own it ! She is "GOOD Person" who really KNOWS the Hospitality business, her customers AND Negril ! She is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL!![]()
Thanks for the clarification Rob. I wasn't overly concerned, since we are not staying there, but I prefer more information than less. I'll try and swing by White Sands (I think I remember on another post that is where you'll be) and buy ya a drink. This forum has been really helpful in planning our trip and squashing some of the concerns from my fellow travelers.
i agree with patricia.....the beach at the palms is a bit nicer and i actually like the location better as well.....i have never meet jean but from reading on here i would certainly not book a room there unless i booked directly thru her.
Never booked through any of the travel sites like expedia I have always wnet through Jean's staff. Inspite of the negative things people are saying I have never had an issue. We will be returning there for the 5th time in a few weeks (out of 10 trips to Negril total) NBCC has been my family's (wife and daughters who are 7 and 3) go to place. No it is not fancy, some may even say it is not even nice but we have always been made to feel safe and comfortable and it fits nicely with the way we like to travel.
Just to clarify.. My concerns were not for NBCC but for Mariners which to my understanding is attached or located on the property of NBCC but have different owners/management etc. It is also my understanding NOW that NBCC does not use sites such as expedia and I was being booked into a room at Mariners under the name of NBC and from only having visited one time previously I did not know this! I am traveling alone with another female friend and thought better safe than sorry. I will know better the next time! Thanks again everyone.
Cole, whatever place YOU decide on, I hope you ENJOY your stay! It's ALL GOOD! And as you said, better safe & HAPPY, then sorry! Safe Travels!![]()
We have stayed with Jean Gaynair and her wonderful staff many times over the last 6 - 7 years and never had any problem. Mariners side was ,as Rob said , taken over by Absentee Ownership and they are doing nothing to maintain their units. A year or 2 back , all the Mariners units lost their power one December as they had neglected to pay their JPS bills and were shut off !! All Of Jean's units on N.B.C.C. had no power issues since they were on a separate Meter!! Always book directly with Jean thru her website !
