Apples and oranges. AirCanada can get you to Sydney Nova Scotia or Sydney Australia. Has many aircraft types to get you non stop Toronto to Seoul Korea. WestJet much smaller is based on the Southwest model, inter continental only, one aircraft type, sardine can seating. Air Canada cannot compete. That's why they started Rouge.

Westjet flies to many world locations, some with 'code partners'. They seem to have several types of aircraft.
I've noticed that newer aircraft (737-700 and Airbus A320) have more leg room than old aircraft (specfically 767-300 - yuk).
Correction: Air Canada might get you to Sydney

Peg Boy Looks like your favourite airline and mine are buying the 767-300-yuk. Used. I wonder if they are AirCanadas old ones?
