Common sense would dictate that if you are leaving on a certain day, it would hard if not impossible to file a police report. There is some posting on TA were the "victim" didnt report the earlier (a few days) incidents until the morning they were leaving. That leaves the police little to no time to do much of anything.

Limo Mon says "Most robbers have info before hand.". By not telling anyone your actual dates (just as you do at home, you dont tell everyone your exact dates and time you are leaving and returning and dont let your mail or newspapers pile up), you are not "inviting" easy crime. Once again, common sense things to remember....
