Video about Font Hill Sanctuary, I think it's relevant. It would also fit in the Negril building restriction thread. It's worth the time to watch it for sure.

I just hope they stop construction during high season - don't want my next year's vacay ruined and I'm sure I'm not alone.

You should think beyond that, and so should the powers that be.

Not likely to happen... the project is perceived to be very late out of the gate... and once started, projects like this are very expensive to park and then restart.

    Re: Breakwater project

Am surprised that nobody answered yet.

What little I found is that it is two barriers (400m long & 590m long) to replace dead reef, to be located about 1.3km out to sea, it is promised not to be visible from shore, it's already behind schedule to start, and it's controversial whether it would work. I assume it consists of big boulders large enough to resist hurricanes but had not heard how they propose to get boulders on site, or how tall/wide these barriers would be, or exactly where in the bay these barriers would be placed. I presume that we will have big construction truck traffic, some dredging, barges, and cranes to place the boulders. Do I have this right?

I hope they will mitigate construction noise and do something to limit silt in the beautiful clear water. Anyone know what they plan to do about those concerns?

    Thanks!
