It's been a long time since I've been to Negril. Questions: What is fair price to tip driver when the transportation is included with the hotel package? What is fair price to pay someone to cook us a home cooked meal in our room. Any other advice would be very welcomed!!
for me....10 for the ride the deal provides on a bus....on a private ride i generally make a few stops and will generally buy my driver lunch and tip 20.....some dont tip at all so its really your choice but even if the driver loads and unloads your bags for you the tip is usally 1 -2 dollars a bag

Regarding tipping for a driver, I would say pretty much the same as in the US from 15 - 20% of the charge. If they do a lot of "brawta" (extras) then maybe a likkle more. Cooking in your room (assuming you have an efficiency room) is flexible for a price. If they do the shopping for the stuff? If you ask them to eat with you? etc. I generally like to offer about $25 US ( or about $3000 Jamaican ) for a two person cooked meal. About what you would pay at a nice restaurant. If they counter a higher price, then evaluate the offer against what you are getting.Originally Posted by bgkent
