    Bourbon buying

Does anyone know if any of these bourbons can be purchased at Megamart? Woodford Reserve, Knob's Creek, or Angel's Envy. Also do you know if you can buy noodles there, the colored tubes for hanging in the water?

If your flying in you might be better off hitting the duty free.

With a boarding pass for an international flight, you can now shop the duty free stores at most major U.S. hub airports. Then again, many of those aren't open when your morning flight leaves for the island. You might want to pack it in your checked bag (risky for whiskey, I'm sure).

I said pack it too - we could pack in the box so it wouldn't break, but stolen? I wonder how often that happens with liquor. What is Board experience? Is it legal to bring it in with you or could they take it away saying you can't bring in?

In all these years we have always gone straight to Negril, but Megamart seems to be the place to go for seemingly everything, according to Board posts.

As a bourbon fan from Kentucky, I find that the 12 yr old Appleton's rum is a great substitute. This is not the regular Appleton's most bars use for rum drinks. It is aged in barrels just like Kentucky bourbon and available
most places. For some reason, I think that there are fewer hangovers with the Appleton's. At home I'm a Maker's Mark fan.

We bring a 1.75 liter bottle of scotch in our checked bags every year and have never had a problem with it not arriving ok.

Thanks - Captain I forgot about Maker's Mark - he likes that one too! I think he got a bit fancy with the others … and I also agree about the rum and he likes that. I think to cover all bases we will try to bring one along too and see how we make out. Worst that can happen is we lose a bottle to experience.

Mrs Wilson... Lucky guess, I guess, but in my experience from hubs in the upper Midwest, my normal 9'ish takeoff precludes duty free shopping.
