I went totally at the last minute and solo for my first trip years ago, and had so much fun! Please don't stress about it. You will be fine. And you totally don't have to be stranded at your hotel drinking by yourself at night! Catch a cab to any of a number of places depending on the night to meet people and have a great time. I love my solo trips. Always have adventures, met lots of friendly travelers and Jamaicans and got hooked on JA trips. It is no disaster, believe me. And maybe he will pop up, but you don't need him to have a good time when you are in Negril.
