It's not like anyone grabbed her or followed her down the beach or anything. A woman made an offer of hair braiding, then aloe, then a man, from what was posted that was it. Her husband wasn't with her, she had to point him out in the water.

I personally wouldn't call that rude and wrong bad behavior. To me it deserves a no thanks, maybe a laugh, and that's that.

But like I said, that's just me.

If that was the case I suppose I'd be annoyed too. Probably wouldn't make a big deal about it- why ruin MY day over such a thing - but I understand where you are coming from there.

I've been propositioned a few times and most often it is no big deal, an inquiry as to my interest in having male company. I decline (sometimes I even thank them for asking!), and that's that.

No one gets upset or insulted

I imagine most men who get propositioned by prostitutes in their home cities don't take it as an insult either...why would they? It's an offer like any other...unless it is offered in a mean spirited way as you describe.

jaded idea that every guy that approaches me is offering paid services lol or should I have this idea at all times ? This could be a very embarassing situation
for me .. and if I ever at any point feel insulted I'm really not one to bite my tongue.
Manda - rule of thumb - the 'jaded idea' that you mentioned - my advice is run with it.
    My Books:

Walk Good - Sunset Negril - Night Nurse
    Available @ www.amazon.com - search 'Roland Reimer'

I agree.....if I meet a man on the beach or surrounding area then he is guilty (of being a gigilo) until proven innocent! Just keep in mind that Jamaican men are very smooth talkers and if you are not careful they will have you believing you are the most beautiful woman in the world (and you may be ;-) and THEN BAM...buy me this, buy me that, I want to marry you (i.e. I need a visa) send me money, leave me your shoes, shirt, shorts, etc.

I love Negril, but those men on the beach are something else and please remember - they are NOT Rastafari...just men with locs!

Ohliz, sadly that was the case and she knew it. It didnt ruin my day maybe only 10 minutes of it, I'm over it...I have nothing against prostitution and In my city there is a designated place for it, ...we call it the "stroll" men and woman that are interested in paying for sex go there and pick out what they want.
I go to Negril beach so I can swim and tan and have fun with my friends and family.

Manda, when you are approached just be yourself...trust your gut instinct and feel your vibe, I know right away man or woman if we click, and you seem very intuitive so you will be fine. If someone is giving off a bad vibe, just say "mi good mon"

Your welcome Mr.Smith, the only thing that worries me is safety on the roads, and that's not to scare anyone..it's a fact, we in North America have the right of way as a pedestrians...that's not so in Jamaica, the cars have the right of way. So it's impeartive that new comers know this, Last week I saw a group f 4 probably mid 20's walking down the road and they were drinking and jokin around nudging each other onto the road as they were walking...it's just scary. I walk that road everyday, I'm more cautious and feel safer because I know the rules are different there.
