Read from a few sites that the Issa's (Couples) bought it...

Did not see any formal announcement, though...

It should not be that difficult to find out from the Negril Chamber of Commerce President, Mr. Issa...
I thought I read the Chamber is somehow associated/affiliated to this board...or my memory is bad...

Anywho...It is a great location! Congrats to whomever is the lucky party!

I'm not sure if you were suggesting that I contact Mr. Issa...but I will not phone him about his personal business...it's up to him to announce if/when they are developing another project...

A security guard at the property told me that The Issa family had purchased it and my favorite bartender at Idle awhile (who is owned by that same family) said it was true also.

Love that property too. Was hoping to win the lottery to purchase it but sadly ... too late.

Rob would be the final source but. I do hear from friends at idle awhile and swept away that thererty is expected to stay pretty much the same but rent could be brought down a bit. We can hope

This kind of ties in with the thread about the new property height/setback regulations. I remarked that this gives Jamaican property owners an opportunity to compete with the foreign investors. You are going to see a lot more ownership changes in the near future as they gear up to expand and remodel outdated properties.

The Issa family is an extremely wealthy and powerful family and, if they could, would build as high as the sky would permit. Better they are at least Jamaicans and now have some limits to follow. http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/2...business1.html
