There are a lot of good, honest, safe and efficient drivers who charge a fair price to and from the airport (witness the responses from some of the boardies who use and recommend them). I notice that many of these operators (although they pay to advertise here) don't shove their way in to the line shouting, "Me! Me!" like they are apt to do when you exit the airport.

We all have our favorites and most of us think the price we pay is a "fair price" or we wouldn't use them.

Times are rough in Jamaica and their is a lot of competition for your tourist dollar. I just hope all the rest of the drivers who advertise here don't start to elbow and shove their way into these question threads like a life insurance salesman at a retirement home.

    Just my opinion.

If you think about the driver's time, the price of gas, the cost of maintaining an automobile, and the cost of insurance all the prices discussed above are not fair-they are too low (Cap, don't tell Linston I posted this, it will hurt my negotiating position in December!!). I just had a taxi ride yesterday from the Marta station to my home in Atlanta (20 miles approx.) and it cost me 50 bucks. The worst part was that I couldn't drink a redstripe and stop for jerk chicken along the way (and the view sucked!).

    Respect,

    TedP
