As far as I know in the past 25 years of living here, I have never heard of any "annual" July 1st Lobster Fest in Negril. Since it is illegal to catch lobster before July 1st, holding a festival on the first day of legal catching would make very little sense since there would not be that many caught on the first day. All the restaurants would get first dibs on those that are caught, there would little to none available for any "fest".
I am not sure where they would be holding this festival as the Negril Community Centre is presently closed.
It sounds like the Negril Rumor Mill at work once again....
