Re: West End Tales: Return to the beach
What's the CCLP property like now with the new building? Is it crowded on the beach and restaurant? I'm a little worried about that. Haven't been there since the new building...any idea how many new rooms there are now? Thanks!

Re: West End Tales: Return to the beach
tfw, CLP has only a few quests right now. Plenty of room on the beach and no wait for anything. Haven't seen the new rooms yet. Okay to ask more questions.

Re: West End Tales: Return to the beach
If today is Wednesday, than it must be day four! Last night at 3 Dives we had 3 orders of 1/2 jerk chicken and 1 brown stew goat all with rice and veges. Very good food. Diane isn't talking to me right now, she is wicked pissed I ordered goat for dinner! She says "how can you eat something so cute!"' I burped and said "just fine"!
Gary Coopers band rocked the yard! Keith was going to go up on stage, but decided to hold back.
Off to Mayfield falls today

Thanks! I was curious as to what kind of added wait/congestion the new rooms add. Sounds like y'all are having a blast! Have fun

Re: West End Tales: Return to the beach
Mayfield Falls was an adventure, fun had by all. Antonio our driver shared lots of good info on the ride.
Current was strong, but we all handled it well. Likkle cold at first, but that passes.
Just as we ended the river walk the skies opened up, free shower back to the base camp. Stayed for lunch, paid for the photos, glad we left the camera with Antonio otherwise it would have got wet from torrential rain. Bought some souvenirs and jelly coconut and honey bananas.
It was an expensive day, but well worth the cost of adventure for all of us. Water shoes are a must, they rent them, we brought our own. Some of the rental shoes did not survive the walk in another group.
I've done Mayfield, YS and Dunns. Mayfield is my favorite.
More later, time to chill!

Re: West End Tales: Return to the beach
tfw73 - regarding the new building at Coco, when I was there the end of May, it wasn't too crowded overall so I don't know how many people were in the new building to make a difference. Our room (521) was right near the entrance/steps to the new building and I didn't see a whole lot of activity in or out. The sundeck upstairs is really nice and there are loungers, tables, and a nice bathroom, but no umbrellas which makes it not too appealing in the middle of the day to be up there. I'd rather be on the beach! We did sit up there a couple nights with take out from Best in the West and it was nice.
Rooms in the new building are nice, but I hear they are very loud due to the acoustics of the hallway. There are no patios or balconies unless you are on the 3rd floor, so it's kind of "motel" like.

Re: West End Tales: Return to the beach
After Mayfield Falls we hung out at CLP and ended up having dinner for the first time onsite. The meal and service was excellent! Before the meal Diane and Carly were given lessons in the ancient art of folding napkins!
We had the Jerk Chicken wings as an appetizer, followed by seafood chowder or pumpkin soup, the bowls were large and the chowder/soup was excellent. Entres were brown stew pork, steamed snapper and chicken Alfredo all were very good. Devon ice cream was on the menu, so we indulged in our own decadence. Diane and I had banana splits, Keith cookies & cream, Carly had pineapple fruit bowl instead of ice cream. Raqueen (?) our server, was very good and we had a very entertaining evening. Early to bed after a long adventurous day!
We took a vote and today is a chill day. Breakfast, workout, stop by St Anthony's (it was closed yesterday when we went by). The girls want to para sail, then beach/pool time! Canoe for dinner.
Enjoy,
