    Re: Zimbali farm/cooking dinner your?

We went to Zimbali for the lunch session, so that we could do the farm tour while it was still daylight out. The tour was cool - we were given fresh coconut jelly/water and bananas right from the tree. Upon our return from the tour, there was homemade sorrel drink waiting for us, which was nice and refreshing. I agree with the doc that the food was not outstanding, but it was good and a great example of "farm-to-table". The cooking demonstration was cool to watch, as well. I would definitely recommend it for an excursion.

One suggestion though - Zimbali will recommend that you use their driver as the retreat is hard to find and they claim that many Negril drivers don't know how to get there. Their driver is just a regular red plate, who they send to Negril and load up with passengers. We had 5 passengers in a typical toyota taxi, which was a little uncomfortable for a 45 minute ride on mostly dirt roads. You may want to use your own driver for comfort. I know that Michael's On Time Taxi knows how to get to Zimbali and I'm sure that Linston can get you there, as well.
