    I think this a case of which came first, the chicken or the egg. And if we start discussing tacos, this thread will be closed! (grin)

    That being said (and joked about), the name "Coco Bread" did not originate as a reference to female anatomy but more likely because it is thought that the name comes from coconuts, due not to taste, but to the bread's hard exterior and softer interior and can be split (like a coconut), and coconut milk is used in the recipe. But one has to remember that it does take a hammer or machete to split a coconut unlike that tasty coco bread... hmmmm....

    In much more recent times, the younger generations have turned it into a "slang term" for the above mentioned anatomy. But when one considers the the history or Jamaica, how long ago it was first baked and the religious aspects of the island, the name would never have originated that way. But as they say in one of the great USA southern Republics, "why let facts get in the way of a good story!" (grin)
