The schoolgirl's killing has pushed the murder tally in the parish to 60 since the start of the year, almost doubling the number for the same period last year.-
this stat is of great concern
This tragic event happened about a week ago in what some refer to as the "divers village ghetto" on Love Lane in the West End. Based on the reported story, the Negril Rumor Mill was in overdrive this past week with speculation with the help of Facebook, other websites and even the comments on the Observer article itself on the who, how and why's of this young life taken early. There is a "person of interest" that the local authorities want to question.
We know most are respectful, but as a reminder, please respect the friends and family and do not "add your two cents" on theories or speculation, this is not the time or place. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family at this time.

its the lane just before sea star lane. you can see the houses on the left as you are going up sea star lane

yeah mi was der on the West End when this happened.....
it happened over in the squatted land which is called Love Lane aka the Village.....
it is the land between Summerset Lane that mi use to have a cottage on and SeaStar Lane...
mi use to walk thru dis land in da 90's and only a couple houses were there then...now hundreds
another unfortunate incident and such a shame such a bright student from the Mannings School is no longer with us....
mi have heard a couple versions of the what took place but it is all rumors and mi not going to speculate......
currently things are tuff for locals and business isn't great on the Western of da island and sometimes things happen.....
