    Favorite excursions?

We will be going to Negril in Nov. This will be my 2nd trip. 7 nights on a tight budget. Need excursion/tour suggestions... Will likely do 2, maybe 3... I've read about many of them... Luminous Lagoon, Mayfield Falls, etc... But which were your favorites? Why? Did you go with a tour company or in a taxi? How much did it cost? Numbered lists in order of favorite (and details as to why, as well as cost) would be awesome. Thanks for the help in advance!

Maybe not what you are looking for, but a route taxi to Sav on a Friday or Saturday to experience the market. Always a great place to get eye popping photos, with permission, of course.

I would try to stick with some places closer to Negril, save Luminous Lagoon and Dunn,s River for a stay on that side of the island. Mayfield Falls and Pelican bar can make a good one. The Blue hole in Brighton is really close. I went on the Chukka tours jeep safari in August, if your into historic stuff it was a good tour.

I'll be getting there after you, but I did a lot of research and I have planned a trip to Mayfield Falls, Calico Jack's Pirate Shack/Half Moon Beach, and the hummingbird gardens.

Half Moon Beach/Calico Jack's is definitely on the agenda. I went back in March and it's definitely worth a reoeat, especially since this will be my husband's first time. That's a pretty affordable trip though, so I'm not really counting that one against my budget
Wow! Interesting history lesson with Sav! I didn't know any of that! Love my country madly, but we don't get that kind of info in history class! How far is Sav?
Sounds like Blue Hole is likely one of our closer, thereby more affordable options... do you take a taxi there, or schedule a tour? I have used and intend to use Ashton Pitt for airport transfers... maybe I should get a quote from him for Blue Hole?

Are Mayfield Falls and Pelican Bar near one another? Can those be done on one trip?

Plan a morning of snorkeling at xtabi.......snorkel a few hours, maybe jump off the cliff, explore the caves.......enjoy lunch there (your entrance fee)......maybe stop in town for some fresh fruit or a real good deal on a tee shirt or two.......back at the resort by 2 to enjoy the various happy hours along the beach......a great low budget day outing right in negril

Could possibly be done on one day but you would really not have enough time to do either place justice.

Consider Y.S. Falls and Pelican Bar (maybe throw in Black River Safari). Lots of people offer this package trip and it can be done in one day. Not Mondays though as Y.S. Falls are closed on Monday.
