If you want to spend some time on the cliffs , check out Xtabi. Nice laid back vibe. Handy to walk also.

    Tiz,
You are going in low season. Hit up Living Social and Groupon for promos.

I stayed at Negril Escape about a 1 1/2 years ago as well. The air conditioning worked great, the bed was comfortable but the plumbing was terrible. Water pressure was very poor, toilet wouldn't flush. I really wanted to like this property but it had too many issues for me.

Just getting back around to this. thanks to all ya'll for contributing, will be helpful to anybody looking for basic affordable lodging.

So as much as I love to beach camp, I'm most def in agreement that Negril might not be the place for it at this point in time, and I probly knew that already but was grasping at strings cause dang, it's been 2 years and I just wanna be there!! Wish I coulda been around 20 years ago cause that would have been so cool.

Anyways......found a cabin for 40 something a night and i reckon that's about as low as I'm going to find so i'll just roll with it. Might try and split the stay so I'm still gonna check out some of ya'lls suggestions for cliff properties.

Jah'Bs has cabins that are $30 per night and you might even be able to talk them down a bit lower. They are very basic and across the road from the beach. We stayed there about 10 years ago. Mostly locals but it was kind of a neat property with porches that were nice to sit on an have coffee. Ours had a kitchen and a our own bathroom.
