    Don't take this the wrong way Tizzy, but someone like you (attractive female) might want to look at other options. Roots is a nice place to hang out, but I'd never camp there w/ the misses...

    Sorry...not sure of exactly when it closed...but it's been awhile now...and I saw the owner the other day but didn't ask why he closed it.

    When I first came to Jamaica I camped all around the island even though the Government's official position was that camping was not an option for entry when you filled out "where you were staying" on the Immigration Card. In those days, you could find tenting facilities all around the island and even on the beach in Negril (Firefly, Roots, Juba, etc. etc.) but I can't really recall seeing any lately.

    As other's have said, at least get a cheap board house with a door that attempts to lock before considering putting yourself and all you own into harm's way.

    Just my opinion.
