Where to stay with kids on the beach.

Flights booked for 15 days in march. We usually do the whole stay at Sivlersands in Duncan,s bay, but have some open nights at the beggining of the trip this year. What would be a nice joint to stay on the beach with kids 9 and 7 ?

Our children love Negril. They have been going with us since they were 2. Coco La palm is a great suggestion, a couple of pools. We stay a either Beach House Villas, most rooms have kitchens. Great architecture and beautiful and very secure property. We have found that the kitchen has always been a plus. Kids get hungry and cranky quick. Food in Ja is slow. The other option we use is Idle Awhile. They have a great beach area. More expensive but well worth it. We took them to Playa this year and after they thanked us they mentioned that next time they would rather go back to Negril. Whatever your choice, enjoy and be safe. Peace

Interesting you mention playa.. I have been taking my kids to islands since my oldest was 3.. not always negril.. we have been to oahu, maui, cozumel, playa del carmen, and Jamaica 3 times. We did Hawaii and Jamaica both last year, and although Hawaii is AMAZING, I like negril equally well , it is 180 degrees off of Hawaii in termed of culture wise.. it has been 5 yrs since we have gone to mexico, and prices there right now are crazyy good.. I was wondering if my kids (10-12) would like playa, or cancun even.. I hate Mexican food though, so for that reason alone I'm still leaning ja... But the kids like the beach, and and cancun especially has nice beaches.. I am taking my solo trip to Kingston and negril, so I am gonna be in ja regardless though.. and me and the kids were there earlier this year, so - somewhere else may still be on the table..

We went to tree house on that earlier this year trip.. the hotel is on a great section of beach.. the rooms are just ok, the breakfast was good. We were all asked to buy weed the first day right in the lobby, but not after that.. it was nice, the kids loved it.. but I looked over at coco la palm, and it was definitely a step above.. I would go there in a heartbeat

mexico is nice - my child liked it

mexican food in mexico is not the tex-mex stuff we usually get in the usa - and mayan food is delish

we've been staying at the barbbarn since my child was small

he was able to get up and go to breakfast alone - the waitstaff took good care of him (and they would bring coffee to my room).

and the security made sure he didn't wander down the beach

With kids that age, it's handy to have a kitchen. I usually see families with kids that age at Nirvana. You get a cook for one meal a day, full kitchen, and they have some play areas for kids. The property is fenced in above the high water line, so you can let them roam the grounds without worry and the security guards are great.

I know I didn't start this thread but I'm noting all these options for the future.
    Happy holiday family time!
