Total eclipse of the full moon is coming on Sunday night. It will be a Blood Moon, so called because of the reddish orange colour of the moon during the eclipse. It will also be an eclipse of the Harvest Moon (full moon closest to the fall equinox) Potentially visible throughout North America on Sunday night, if it is not obstructed by cloud cover. Maximum eclipse will occur at 9:47 PM Jamaica time. (for those of you lucky enough to be 'pon di rock!) Maybe someone will post a photo or two!
I'm definitely going to be watching! I saw my first lunar eclipse in Negril and I have been hooked ever since. Truly a phenomenal experience, especially in Jamaica. The skies seem so much clearer. I hope our skies cooperate in our area.....I am ready!!! As Sunray stated...if someone has some photos, please post them for we moon lovers here in the states.

It will be fully visible to those from Manitoba to the East coast. For the West, the eclipse will be partially finished by the time it rises there so will only show about half of it. This type of moon does not happen often, full moon, harvest moon and eclipse. Apparently it only happens about every 30 years. Yes I`ll be watching.
