Purchase SIM Before I Arrive in Jamaica?

I am looking forward to visiting Jamaica for 30 days beginning 02 February 2016 - first to Treasure Beach and then to Negril.

I would like a Digicell micro-SIM for my existing unlocked iPhone5 before I arrive in Jamaica.

Do any of you know if you can buy pre-paid micro-SIM now, have it mailed to USA, and activate micro-SIM just before I arrive in Jamaica?

that sounds like a lot of work when you can just hit the digicel or lime store in Mobay or Negril on your way. In and out in half an hour and done. Simples.

Frankk- I once found an online service that would ship you a SIM card for various Cell phone providers, from various countries (Digicel Jamaica included). However, the cost seemed high to me, considering the card did not include any minutes. If I remember correctly, it was ~$50 US for the card. I opted to just stop by the Digicel store by the roundabout and buy a card there. In addition, I appreciated the personal service at the Digicel store, as the sales associate took the time to insert the card and setup my phone (there were some menu options that she had to change).

I will see if I can find the website as it may be worth it to you, if you want to purchase the card in advance.

Without minutes, you end up paying $30 for the SIM card. In person at the Digicel store I think it is only $5.

Thank you for the good advice. I decided it would be best to wait until I get on site before I get that SIM.
