    Pandora in Jamaica?

    Hey Boardies!
I know Pandora doesn't work in Jamaica is there anything close I can download an app etc? I usually have my Ipod but would prefer something like Pandora as I get tired of listening to my same music at times.

It isn't licensed in every country, so if your IP address is from JA it won't work. There are ways around that, if you know what you're doing.

It has to do with the licensing. Certain content providers are not licensed to stream music or videos in Jamaica. (The service can tell which country you are in by checking your IP address.) Just like how Netflix can stream certain content in Canada, but not in the US:

You learn something new everyday. I was planning on using Pandora when I got there so I will have to figure out a way around the IP address issue.

You need to use a proxy server in the US to stream Pandora. There are lots of free proxy software out there. Once you have the proxy software installed all you need to do is connect to the internet and then connect to an available US proxy server using the softaware. Once you're connected to a proxy server in the US you should be able to stream Pandora. This is because you appear to be in the same location as the proxy server to Pandora or whatever website you're hitting.

I use this with success on my laptop. I never used a proxy with a my smartphone but I suspect there are proxy apps.

Private Internet Access is what I have used in the past to bypass content licensing restrictions.
