December 12th thru 19th, Like The Jackson Five song "I'll be there"
"Just call my name, ....... and I'll be there"
Well, I decided to use those 5 V-days I have for this year and hop a quick trip to the rock.
Man o Man, it would have be close to Christmas.
My play son. 7 years old is waiting!
I could be 1/2 mile away, he sees me and .....MARK!!!!! MARK!!!!
He starts charging, like a run away locomotive.
"Oh, Lord, here he comes".
My back is not what it use to be,
but does he care? Does he slow down?
Not a chance.
About 5 feet away he starts to jump/leap up, up, flying through the air!!
WHAM! POWIE! BIFF!
He lands in my arms and hugs me like there's no tomorrow.
Of course I put down my traveling bag before he got too close.
"What's in the bag?" he asked.
"Man, its my stuff, don't bother yourself about it"
All that does is bring on an even bigger grin.
So, this trip I will try and sneak up on him.
Very hard to do. He has eagle eyes
and knows when "Santa" is coming.
If I am sitting in a chair, he will hop on board the Mark train.
I will squeeze his little stomach till he laughs.
Rub his head and ask him about school.
When we talk, and he has his back against my chest, he will go on and on about this or that.
"Leave Mark alone! He's here to vacation, get down! Let him rest.
His mom is always trying to calm him down, but..............ever try to stop a volcano?
She says "now I have 2 boys to trouble me"
We both laugh and start running like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
So, since the 12th is very close to Christmas, he will have an early one.
Of course I can't forget Mom, Sis, Mom-in-Law and my running buddies.
I found those head lamps, that you wrap around your head when you are working on something so you can be hands free.
my 2 best J-buddies will love those.
New, scented car air fresheners are always a hit too.
Little things mean a lot.
